Backe of Crystal Lake, Illinois, born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on January 4, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Backe and Dorothy Backe (Spitz); his great grandchild Harper; and his siblings, Mike, Eddie and Jim.
He is survived by: his wife Nora "Ellen" Gunn; his children, Judith (Michael), Nick (Heather), Bruce (Tammy), Susan (Gordy) and Matt (Lauren); his grandchildren, Zach, Trace, Cade, Emma, Brennan, Gunner, Jack and Everly; and his great grandchildren, Bradley and Brooks.
