He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Byrnes and Virginia Byrnes (Howell); and his siblings, Danielle Riley and Christopher "Kip" Byrnes. He is survived by: his wife Susan McManus; his children, Amy Liu (Edward), David Byrnes (Debra), Michael Byrnes (Emi), Timothy Byrnes, Mary Kahn (Joshua) and Kevin Byrnes (Angela); his grandchildren, Benjamin, Trevor, Amelia, Natalie, Matthew, Spencer, Jack, William, Vivian, Hudson, Damen, Samantha, Allegra, Abrianna, Steven Joseph, Charlotte and Penelope; and his siblings, Virginia "Nina" Foster, Peggy Haley, Daniel "Tony" Byrnes, Thomas Byrnes, Mary Jo Byrnes, Gael Byrnes, Jamie Byrnes, Monica Byrnes and Brendan Byrnes. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Davenport Family Funeral Homes and Crematory – Crystal Lake (419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 9:30 AM at the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church (451 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014). A burial was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM at the Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery (8012 Ridgefield Rd, Crystal Lake, IL 60012).
