It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Louise Hammell of Crossville, Illinois, who passed away on March 6, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred McKnight and Clara McKnight (Renshaw); her husband David Eugene "Gene" Hammell; her son David Hammell; and her brother William McKnight.
She is survived by: her daughter Mary Jean Ellis (Glendall) of Enfield, Illinois; her daughter-in-law Jane Hammell of Calvin, Illinois; her sister Ruby Marks of West Salem, Illinois; her grandchildren, Kevin Hammell (Pam), Brent Hammell (Carrie), Jeff Degenhardt (Norah), Tassy Martin (Charles), Crystal Taylor (Joseph), Richard Mode (Susan), Kay Ridenour (Larry Joe) and Nancy Gowdy; and her caregiver Holly Winebarger. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
