He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Abbey and Fern Simmons Abbey; his wife Lois Mae; his brother Jerry; his daughter Bonnie Abbey Smith; and his daughter-in-law Rhonda Dohman Abbey.
He is survived by: his children, Sandy Mies, David Abbey (Margaret), Lynette Weber (Jeff), Jeff Abbey, Dawn Pagan (Roberto), Julie Saathoff (Tom) and Leslie Abbey. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to: Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Cropsey United Methodist Church, Cropsey Area Community Fund or Cropsey Cemetery Association.
