He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd and Laura; his parents-in-law, Chester and Genevieve Sikorski; and his brother-in-law Dennis Sikorski (Lois).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean; his children, Brett (Carol), Melissa Wermers (Robert) and Linda; his grandson Derek Wermers (Lia); his great grandchildren, Genevieve, Tabitha, Rachel Emery (Kyle), Kurt Wermers (Nicci), Jacob Burkholder, Brenna Boyd (Mike), Jared Allen, Noah Burkholder, Jenna, Jorie and John Allen; his sister Barbara Cooper of Arizona; his brother-in-law David Sikorski (Irene); and also, Trevor, Tate, Ellie, Macklin Lloyd and Kieran. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hobart Humane Society.
