He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Marion L. Shorts; his children, Susan VanLaningham (Gary), Kurt Shorts and William Shorts (Ann); and his former wife Irene Ganas. He was also cherished by his children, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
