It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matthew J. O'Brien (Crestwood, Illinois), who passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Virginia; his children, James O'Brien (Julia), Patricia Vazquez (late Joseph T.) and Mary Kay Hastings (Brian); his grandchildren, Margaret (Michael), Katherine (Jordan), Matthew (Lori), Michael, Nicole (Aaron), Joseph, Sean, Ryan (Madison), Erin and Tara; his siblings, Nancy (late Byron), Daniel (late Linda) and Kathleen; and his sister-in-law Nancy.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Becvar & Son Funeral Home & Cremation (5539 W 127th St, Crestwood, IL 60418). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Alexander Catholic Church (7025 W 126th St, Palos Heights, IL 60463).
