He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Patrick Fitzgerald and Elsie Fitzgerald; and his siblings, Elsie Jean "Teddy" Anderson (Willard), James M. Fitzgerald and Mary Therese Hanafin (Marie).

He is survived by: his sister Geraldine Tipman (George). He is also survived by many nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews.
