He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete Hernandez and Grace Hernandez; his wife Marilyn; his son Royal "Guy" Hernandez; his siblings, Mike Hernandez, James Hernandez, Ruth Sterioti and Pete Hernandez; and his siblings-in-law, Saralea Vicich and Pete Childers.

He is survived by: his daughters, Connie Bilik (Steve) and Cindy Quas (late Nick); his daughter-in-law Cheryl Hernandez; his grandchildren, Dennis Bilik, David Bilik (Sara), Nicole Smith (Joe), Tracy Doll and Zachary Quas; and his great grandchildren, Bella, Jaxon, Cameron, Jacob, Jordan and Damien.
