We are sad to announce that on April 26, 2021, at the age of 85, Josephine Gassel of Crest Hill, Illinois, born in Murphysboro, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Mae [Neace] and Otto Porter; her husband Frank Gassel Sr.; her children, Frank Gassel Jr. and Bernadine Bauer; and her siblings, Bud, Jack, Dorothy, Marie, Evelyn and Vivian.

She is survived by: her children, Richard Gassel, Patrick Gassel and Louise Bruton; her son-in-law Terry Bruton; her sister Ruby Martin; and her grandchildren, Rebecca Campagna, Bryan Irvin, Jennifer Bauer, Jessica Tanis, John Gassel, Amy Gassel, Megan Gassel and Ashley Gassel. She is also survived by Great-Grandchildren.
