He is survived by: his sons, Christopher Shaun and Cory Allan Varela; his wife Debora Nauert; his children, Zachary and Katherine Nauert Steig; and his siblings, Socoro Hernandez, Jose Hernandez, Guadalupe Luna, Ruben Varela, Jr., Dora Varela Esparza, Ismael Varela, Artemio Hernandez Varela, Osbaldo Varela, Maria M. Varela, Horacio H. Varela, Josefina Varela Mershon, Bernardo H. Varela and Rene Varela. He is also survived by Many grandchildren, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
