He was predeceased by: his parents, James Peters and Mildred Peters (Heger); his former wife Joan Lessie Peters; and his daughters, Wilma Lawson and Betsy Cheney.
He is survived by: his wife Paula; his children, Susan Hunter (Earl) and Robbie Peters (Cammy); and his brothers-in-law, Ruben Davis (Diane) and Chuck Davis (Sandy). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Marion Independent Baptist Church and will be accepted at the church.
