With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ronald Edward Mitchell of Crainville, Illinois, born in Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on April 15, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gordon and Bernice E. Mitchell (Brewer); and his brothers, Larry Steven and Darrell "Whitey" Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Patty Ann Mitchell; his daughters, Lorie Barnett (Matthew) and Jeannie Mitchell (Charles Vale); his stepdaughters, Stephanie Weathers, Michelle Weathers and Kimberly Weathers; his grandchildren, Bryce Collins, Ronnie Barnett, Daniel Barnett, Zoey Brantley, Phoenix Hickam and Zanen Weathers; and his siblings, Joyce Fear (Ed), Darla Shelby (John), Eric Mitchell, Randy Mitchell (Susie) and Denny Mitchell (Effie). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Village of Crainville for the future Memorial Garden dedicated in his name.
