He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Kafer; his brother John Kafer Jr.; his siblings-in-law, Nancy Olson (Dave) and Lynn Henschel (Steve); and his parents, John Kafer and Anne Kafer.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Moss (Jim) and David Kafer (Lisa); his grandchildren, Emily, Zachary Moss, Teagan, Madisyn and Ashlyn Kafer; and his sister Judy Castor (Frank).
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 25th 2024 at 3:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 25th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Hallowell & James Funeral Home (1025 W 55th St, Countryside, IL 60525). A burial was held on Monday, August 26th 2024 at the Pine Lawn Memorial Park.
