He was predeceased by: his father Otto J.; his siblings, Verlan "Buddy" Funk, Leland "Lee" Funk, Arlene Koch (Warren) and Bernice Kinzel (Orville); and his nephew Dale Kinzel.

He is survived by: his wife Jeanette; his children, Bradley Funk of Darmstadt, IL, Cindy Funk of Freeburg, IL and Todd Funk (Georgina) of Dallas, GA; his grandchildren, Nichole Kunz (Chad), Derek Wilke, Taylor and Kaylee Funk; his stepgrandchildren, Michael Rayburn and Emily Bolyn (Andrew); his great grandchildren, Hunter, Charli and Katelyn Kunz; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Cale, Kyli and Bren Bolyn; his brother Dallas Funk (Sue); his siblings-in-law, Virginia Funk and Stanley Steinheimer; and his godsons, Gene Koch, Patrick Leonhardt and Randy Miller. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
