He is survived by: his parents, William Doyle Hefner II and Patricia Jane Hefner (Schaffer); his spouse Wendy Sue Wiemers; his children, Josie Hefner of Troy and William Robert Hefner of Troy; his stepchildren, Dustin Boner, Joshua Boner, Jeffrey Boner and Kelsey Boner; his brother Robert Hefner of Granite City; and his grandchildren, Kynlee Shannon Boner, Karsyn Alexandra Boner and Layla Mae Boner.
