Kevin P. File Obituary
Kevin P. File, 42, of Cottage Hills, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024.
He was born on November 30, 1981, in Alton, IL, the son of Cecil W. and Kim S. (Walsh) File.
Kevin loved the simplistic life and would embrace the little things around him. While raising his family he worked as a floor technician for Boeing for nine years. Later following in his dad's footsteps he became a custodial supervisor for Lewis and Clark Community College (no Nelson building). Recently he found making his own schedule more appealing and worked independently with Door Dash at his leisure. He decided to return to church and started going to Enjoy Church in Alton, finding his way back to the Lord.
He was a motorcycle enthusiast, teaching his son Logan to ride alongside of him. He loved the newest technologies and always had to tinker with them, including his drone. He instilled solid values in his children and taught them how to use firearms and protect themselves. Kevin was looking forward to learning how to forge with his son Tyler and experimenting along the way. In the evenings you could find him watching movies and playing Roblox with Shane. More than anything he wanted his family. His kids and grandkids meant the world to him. Kevin was incredibly proud of all of them. His love will live on within each of them.
Along with his father, Cecil, he is survived by his children, Logan File, Tyler File, and Shane File all of Bethalto; his wife, Nacole File; his step-children, Aaron Wilcox of Alton, Tommy Costello of Fairview Heights, and Annabelle Wilcox of Fairview Heights; a sister, Akaila File of Roxana; a brother, James (Alexa) File of Alton; his ex-wife and mother of his children and closest friend and her husband, Angie (Russell) Walters of Bethalto; and his five grandchildren, Jaxon, Jason, Holden, Easton, Oaklynn and one more on the way; two nieces, Athena and Kimber; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins he knew and spent time with.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kim; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Jacqueline Walsh; and a half-sister, Jamie Watson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 1 pm until time of service at 3 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials are suggested to Angie Walters for an educational fund for his three sons.
