We bid farewell to Herman Lebegue of Cottage Hills, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 21, 2025 at the age of 96. Herman touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his daughter Amelia Kniery; his son-in-law Carl R. Rice; and his siblings, Aneda Rutz (Wilfred), Harlan Lebegue (Arzella), Ordella Rutz (Orville), Dorothy Mick (Vernon), Lester Lebegue (Janet), Betty Wilburn, Billy and Tony Dixon.
He is survived by: his children, Vandora Elfrink (Jim) of Belleville, Nathan Lebegue of Cottage Hills, Aurelia Savage (Richard) of Evans, Warren Lebegue (Debra) of New Douglas and Michele Rice of Waverly; his son-in-law Mark Kniery of Chatham, Illinois; his grandchildren, Phil Elfrink (Sara), Jared Elfrink, Katy Derfler (Nick), Stephanie DeSantis, Joshua Savage, Erin LeMay (Anthony), Joseph Witte, Benjamin Witte (Megan), Daniel Witte, Timothy Witte, Warren Paul, Jr. Lebegue (Dani), Kristina Lebegue, Xander Lebegue (Taylor), Dan Robertson (Belinda), Michael, Ashley Rivers (Joe), Carl D. Rice, Jonathan Rice and Jeremiah Rice (Samantha); his great grandchildren, Sylvia, Rosalia, Will, Lucas, Arthur, Chiara, Emily, Octavian, Joey, Teagan, Ava, Kyler, Bobby, Nash, Kalee (Andre), Dillon, Logan, Brock, Gabriel, Guinavere, Noah, Josley and Jeremiah; his great great grandchild Braxton; and also, William, Clara Belle Dixon (Tayon) and Joseph. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the New Douglas Community Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Family Hospice of Belleville.
