He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Howard Sr. and Ruth Smay (Hunt). He is survived by: his wife Joyce E Moore; his children, Mark Smay (Gale), Matt Smay, Suzanne Scherff (Dennis) and Sondra Smay; his brother Ed Smay (Fran); his in-laws, PJ Green (Mike), Patty King and Garry Moore; and his grandchildren, Aaron (Vonda), Ryan (Jennifer), Stacy (Diego), Eric "Big E" (Merissa), Nicole (Mike), Catie (Kyle), Amy (Mike), Chad (Jessica), Andrew (Cait), Kyle (Crystal), Joel (Kate) and Curtis. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
