With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Baldomero Velez of Cortland, Illinois, born in New Braunfels, Texas, who passed away on September 22, 2024 at the age of 95. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Baldomero Velez to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Miguel Velez and Anita Velez (Lopez); and the mother of his children Jacqueline B. Velez. He is survived by: his children, Migel "Mike" Velez (Vicki) of Cortland, Andres "Andy" Velez (Deborah) of DeKalb and Elida "Lydia" Greenawalt (Kenneth) of Sycamore; his grandchildren, Clint Humes (Jennifer), Ashley Henderson, Nycol Hearn (Keith), Tori Velez and Malori Velez; his great grandchildren, Silas Henderson, Olivia, Aleya Velez, Vada Devers, Ariyah Velez and Grayson Velez; his siblings, Margarito, Graciella and Bernadina; and his close friend Catalina Esparza. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3rd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (2011 S 4th St, DeKalb, IL 60115). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St Mary Church (244 Waterman St, Sycamore, IL 60178).
