He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Tallent and Tora Tallent (Seabaugh); his daughter Janet Hunt; and his siblings, Carl, Paul, Frank, Jerry Tallent, Maxine Stidham, Imogene Swope, Pauline McMichael, Roberta Barnard and Eulene Warner.

He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Tallent of Cornell; his children, Debra Kay Irons (John) of Manville, Carol Frances Tallent-Hartman (Roger) of Dekalb, Michael Lee Tallent (Geri) of Flanagan and David Dean Tallent (Janet) of Manville; his grandchildren, Elisha Knott, Kelsi Richard, Michael Tallent (Kristin), Nicole Tallent and Alexis Tallent; and his pet Clover. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
