With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Walter J. Coussens of Cordova, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Remy Coussens and Alma Coussens (Maertens); and his brother Clifford Coussens. He is survived by: his wife Jill A. Mitton of John's Church; his son Casey Coussens of Mendota Heights, MN; his siblings, George Coussens (Nadine) of Pekin, IL, Thomas Coussens (Carole) of Rapids City, IL, Lawrence (Barb), Jilleen Wagner (John) of Normal, IL and Judy Thomas (Lee) of Galva, IL; and his sister-in-law Sarah Coussens of Bountiful, UT. He is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gibson - Bode Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd. - Port Byron (202 N Main St, Port Byron, IL 61275). A prayer will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (1416 3rd Ave, Port Byron, IL 61278). A burial will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Cemetery East Moline (2301 3rd St, East Moline, IL 61244).
