He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Fidlar and Violet Fidlar (Slater); his brother Charles Fidlar; and his brothers-in-law, Emmett Lee Downey and Louie Wiklund.
He is survived by: his wife Lynn Smalley of Cordova, IL; his children, Erin Ketelsen (Jon) of Port Byron, IL and Mahlon "Mac" Lewis (Sarah) of Malbar, FL; his siblings, David Fidlar of Moline, IL, Verna Mae Downey of Cordova, IL and Joanne Wiklund of Port Byron, IL; his sister-in-law Patsy Fidlar of Cordova, IL; and his grandchildren, Bryce, Madalyn Ketelsen, Emily, Amy and William Lewis.
Memorials may be made to the Cordova American Legion, or the Vietnam Veterans of America.
