He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendell Swope and Elizabeth Swope (Kehm); his wife Patricia Bettner; his children, Geneva and Dani; his grandson Jeffrey Montavon; and his siblings, LaVila Bains, Elroy, Marvin and Jerroll Swope.
He is survived by: his children, Lori Swope of Compton, Tini Montavon (Chuck) of Compton and Tim Swope of Oregon, Illinois; his granddaughters, Jeni Montavon (Clifton Noble), Michelle Wade (Gabe) and Kim Wisinski (Don); and his sister Marilyn Ehlers of Princeton.
