He was predeceased by: his parent Loman; and his siblings, Lloyd Champion and Joyce Jenks. He is survived by: his wife Sue Champion; his children, Brian Champion (Raul Gonzalez) of Arlington Heights, IL and Michelle Magnuson (Roscoe) of Columbia, IL; and his grandchildren, Alex and Ashlynn.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
