He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Stone and Pauline Avery; his son Richard; and his siblings, James Stone and JoEllen Wevers.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Stone (Mehrtens). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his AA family.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to: Alzheimer's Association.
