He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Whaley and Delores Whaley; his son Mark James Whaley; and his brother Terry Whaley. He is survived by: his wife Patty Whaley; his children, Michael James Whaley of St. Louis, MO, Patricia L. Garcia (Joseph II) of Columbia, IL and David Whaley (Jeremy Mattingly) of Waterloo, IL; his siblings, Eugene Whaley (Jan) of New Athens, IL and Linda Pair (Mike) of Jackson, MO; his grandchildren, Ashlee (Dean), Shannon (Austin), Madelynn, Izabelle (Christian), Jordyn, Alizjah, Bridget, Kaylyn, Ariana and Joseph III; and his great grandchildren, Sophia, Natalee, Wesson, Raneri and Greylynn.
