It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dale Mehrtens of Columbia, Illinois, born in Valmeyer, Illinois, who passed away on January 2, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Wilma R. Mehrtens; his parents, Emil A. Mehrtens and Emma K. Mehrtens; his siblings, Delphine Pape (Gilbert), Esther Schmidt (Roland) and Gene Mehrtens; and his sister-in-law Verna Mehrtens.
He is survived by: his children, Denise Leiteritz (Joseph), Dana Sherman (Roger), Brian Mehrtens (Robyn), Suzy Homrighausen (Dennis) and Cindy Roever (Scott); his grandchildren, Jacob Zollner, Klaire Schatz (Patrick), Blaise Arriaga, Kristi, Kyle, Kory Sherman, Annette Glotfelty (Jon Stone), Elijah Mehrtens (Ivy), Isaiah Mehrtens (Anna), Josiah Mehrtens, Ryan Homrighausen, Samuel, Madeline and Lillian Roever; his sister Shirley Mehrmann (Donald); and his sister-in-law Elizabeth Mehrtens. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; and cousins.
As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to: Immaculate Conception Church - Columbia St. Mary Church - Valmeyer or Alzheimer's Association.
