She was predeceased by : her parents, John F. Grimes and Cora Corzette Grimes; her husband Donald Newton; her son-in-law Jim McDanel; and her siblings, Carl, Maxine, Junior, Ruth and Ronnie.

She is survived by : her daughter Susan McDanel; and her grandchildren, Lance McDanel (Marnie), Lonnie McDanel (Melissa) and Lori Proehl (Jay). She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kaylea Proehl.
