He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Carter and Nina Garmon Carter; and his wife Kathryn Barr. He is survived by: his children, Pamela Rogers, Scott Carter and Travis Yungen; his grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, Amber, Lyndsey and Jennifer; his great grandchildren, Jadyn, Anastasia, Badyn and Nikolai; and his sisters, Faye Martin, Nena Swanson and Connie Ellard.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Schroder Mortuary- Colona (213 1st St, Colona, IL 61241). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
