He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Schaecher and Mary Schaecher (Schumacher); his wife Patricia DeBates; his grandson Joseph; and his siblings, Bonnie Kozma, Marvin and James Schaecher.

He is survived by: his daughters, Theresa Coultas (Mike) of Colona, IL, Carla Schaecher of Colona, IL and Brenda Terrell (Joe) of Colona, IL; his grandchildren, Heather Kizer (Shannon), Collette Johnson (Luke), Amanda Avendano (Omar) and Jamie Diaz (David); his great grandchildren, Kenny Dwyer, Chrisitan Kizer, Giana Johnson, Connor Johnson, Sadie Diaz, Evie Avendano, Colt Diaz and Enzo Avendano; and his siblings, Don (Dorothy), Moreen Thiessen (Gene), Marilyn Samuelson of Taylor Ridge, IL and Jolene Richardson of Blue Grass, IA.
