With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gertrude Kauzlarich of Colona, Illinois, born in Eddyville, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 23, 2024 at the age of 99. As Gertrude departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Gertrude may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Gertrude leaves behind.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Arthur VanKlaveren and Nita Blackwood VanKlaveren; and her husband Rudy. She is survived by : her children, Arnold "Butch" Kershaw (Elzita), Sharon Earl (Rod) and Joe Kauzlarich (Linda). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Schroder Mortuary - Silvis (701 1st Ave, Silvis, IL 61282). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 at the Greenview Memorial Gardens (1201 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline, IL 61244).

Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Center.
