With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dale E. Rhodes of Colona, Illinois, born in Lafayette, Indiana, who passed away on April 28, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Rhodes and Pearl Rhodes (Thomas); his siblings-in-law, Bernard and Catherine Freeland; his son-in-law Richard Gilman; his siblings-in-law, James Freeland, George Grieves, Joyce, Phyllis, Jan and Mary Freeland; his niece Mary Miller; and his nephew Mark Grieves.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Freeland; his sister Doris Bird; his children, Cathy Gilman, Chris Nordstrom (Jim) and Richard Rhodes (Sofia); his grandchildren, Shane, Jenica Scheib (Blake), Brenden (Erica), Jamisen (Meghan), Chance (Lexy), Jarron Nordstrom, Elizabeth, Olivia and Jennifer Rhodes; and his great grandchildren, Alec, Traven, Landon, Kami, Weston, Hunter, Marshall, Aiden, Hailee Nordstrom and Asher Scheib. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, and friends.
