He is survived by: his wife Caroline Rainwater; his sons, Ken Schaefer of Murfreesboro and Matthew Schaefer (Michelle) of Colfax, Illinois; his granddaughter Alexa Schaefer of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and his siblings, Larry Schaefer (Sidney) of Saybrook, Illinois, Jean Hiles of Watseka and Ann Thacker of Peotone.
