He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Martens and Marie Martens (Aden); his brothers, Paul, James, Gerald and Ronald; his sister-in-law Kathy Martens; his nephew Dwayne Martens; and his great-niece Ciarra Martens.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia "Gina" Jose of Colchester; his siblings, Roger Martens (Judy) of Keokuk and Sharon Stotlar (Raymond) of Wever, Iowa; and his sisters-in-law, Florence Martens, Jane Martens and Mary Ann Martens of Carthage. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
