He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Frances and Virginia Hornback (Lynch); his wife Joan Cornue; and his siblings, Patsy Poucher, Gary, Harry, Joe, Rex and Marty Hornback.

He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Kasper (John) of Fort Worth, TX, Donna Sorensen of Humbolt, TN, Pam Glover Groh of Cobden, Kim Labott (Pat) of Buffalo Grove, IL, Sheryl Scott of Galloway, NJ, Betty Sorensen (Rod) of Kansas City, MO, Laurie Yates of Cobden, Jerry Hornback (Rhonda) of Flippin, AR and Ron Hornback (Dawn) of McHenry, IL; his grandchildren, Mike Kasper (Anna), Mark LaBott (Ali), Brian Glover (Cortney), David Groh, Kerry Perez, Nicole Franklin, Jim Ford (Stephanie), Gina Davis (Robby), Joshua Hornback, Justin Hornback, Felicia Hornback, Lauren Hornback and Jocelyn Hornback; and his siblings, Shirley Birk, Betty Edwards, Rita Wright (Wayne) and Wayne Hornback (Penny). He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, several other relatives and friends.
