He was predeceased by: his parents, John Virgil and Mattie Belle Whiles (Lowry). He is survived by: his former wife Christine Sparks; his wife Chris; his daughter Liza Whiles; his grandchildren, Bailie Meacham (Reece), Iliza, Rhett Meacham, Mallorie Eckhardt, Nora Eckhardt and Carsten Eckhardt; his daughter Sonya Sturtevant (Anthony); his grandchildren, Andrew Anselmi (Brooke), Brinley, Addison, Avery Anselmi, Chase Anselmi (Hilary), Houston, Chandler and Hallie Anselmi; his son Langston Whiles; his grandchildren, Devlyn and Addaline Whiles; and his sons, Gregg Allen and William Christopher. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed in his honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Coal Valley Fire & Rescue.
