It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karon Wilson of Coal Valley, Illinois, born in Hastings, Nebraska, who passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard McKnight and Gladys McKnight (Lewis); and her children, Danny Wilson and Sheri Counts. She is survived by: her significant other Eldon Duane Wilson; her children, Ricky Wilson of Coal Valley and Cindy Kunzle (Jon) of Moline; her children-in-law, Diane Wilson of St. Cloud, Florida and Mike Counts of Ankeny, Iowa; her grandchildren, Shane, Wyatt Wilson, David Counts (Emily), Allison Brey (Chris), Cara Wilson (John Fachko), Nick and Justin Kunzle; her great grandchildren, Walker Wilson, Chloe, Logan Counts, Dahlia Kunzle, Raiden, Oden and Eli Fachko; and also, Larry Wilson (Lola) and Beverly Rice. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her love for music and singing was evident in her joyful contributions to the church choir, creating lasting memories for all who were fortunate to hear her melodic voice.
