It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Roger Melvin of Coal City, Illinois, born in Bloomington, Illinois, who passed away on November 28, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Laverne Melvin and Edith Eva Melvin (Pittman); his daughter Debra Schumacher; and his brothers, Randall Melvin (Mary), Ronald Melvin, Gregory Melvin, Dennis Melvin, Richard Melvin and Roland Melvin.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda Kaye Brady; his children, Dean Melvin (Marianne) of Coal City, Darren Melvin (Heather) of Wilmington and Jennie Johnson (Art) of Crest Hill; his son-in-law Todd Schumacher; his grandchildren, Heather Davis (Derek), Matt Melvin, Brian Popovich, Katie Cialone, Julie Popovich (Hunter Sayers), Amy Popovich, Douglas Johnson and Brady Johnson; his great grandchildren, Emily Popovich, Braxton Davis, Kade Melvin, Jace Cialone and Ella Popovich; his brother Michael Melvin of Oglesby; and his sister-in-law Mary Ann Melvin of Streator. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Roger's memory to the Coal City Food Pantry.
