He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold W. Onsen and Anna Vivian Onsen (Cushing); his grandmother Mary Cushing; his siblings, James Onsen, Leonard "Swede" Onsen, Jerry Lee Onsen, Faye Legg, Betty Lou Vandygrief, Wayne Onsen, Richard Onsen and David Onsen; and his granddaughter Jenna Onsen.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his sons, Gary Onsen (Sara) of Coal City, Thomas Onsen (Tammy) of Coal City and Timothy Onsen of Coal City; his granddaughters, Kimberly Clubb (Cody) of Coal City, Madison Kolthoff (Devan) of Coal City, Cassie Clark of Coal City and Meredith Wren (Johnny) of Coal City; his great grandchildren, Cole, Trent, Rylin, Mason, Nolan, Hadley and Stella; his siblings, Karen Summers (Tommy) and William "Billy" Onsen (Dee Perona); his sisters-in-law, Pat Onsen, Carol Morin and Kathleen Carpenter; and his friend Jerry Micetich (Ray). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Ray's memory to the Assumption Building Fund, to Lightways Hospice Home, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
