He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Gaston and Minnie Kessler (Pomatto); and his son-in-law William Wharrie. He is survived by: his wife Helen; his children, Ronald Kessler (Kathy) and Patricia Wharrie; his grandchildren, Carla Thompson (David), Stephanie Kessler, Joseph Kessler (Amy) of Ohio, Ann Bell of Diamond, Ellen Kendrick (Corey) of Michigan, Carrie Onsen of Diamond, Kyle Schachtschneider (Lisa) of Chicago and Timothy Schachtschneider of Bloomington; his great grandchildren, Leanna, Abbey, Carson, Helen, Meghan, Millie, Will, James, Isabelle, Louden, Ellis and Arlo; and his friend Robert Newberry (Bob).
