He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Arthur and Carrie K. Zentmyer; his daughter Susan Martis; and his grandson William "Billy" Ball. He is survived by: his wife Georgia Zentmyer of Coal City; his stepsons, Mark Motzny (Mildred) of Henderson, NV and Lucas Motzny (Kelly Seroka) of Coal City; his children, Katherine Ball (William) of Channahon, IL, John Zentmyer, Jr. (Tina) of Plainfield, IL, Carolyn Magruder (Michael) of Joliet, IL and Tracy Warning (Dave); and his grandchildren, Modesty Tan, MacKenzie Motzny, Jacob Motzny, Benjamin Motzny, Layne Motzny, Grace Motzny, Heather Fisher, Kristi McBride, David Zentmyer, John Zentmyer, Jennifer Zentmyer, Valerie Matz, Christine Connely, Hannah Turbin, Rachael Champagne and Lisa Dani.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be directed to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church or Lightways Hospice.
