He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Stewart and Emily Smolka (Joseph); his son Troy Stewart; his parents-in-law, Roland and Victoria Harvey; and his brothers, Douglas Stewart and John Smolka.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his daughters, Elizabeth Scofield (Stephen) of Bristol, England and Debbie Carollo (Rich) of Aurora, Colorado; his grandchildren, Andi Stewart, Chris Fischer, Barney, Nancy, George Carollo, Kevin, Thomas and Anthony Stewart; his great grandchild Lizzy Marie; his brothers, Chris Smolka (late Harriette) of Hawaii and Joey Smolka (Carol) of Colorado; and his sister-in-law Linda Harvey-Knight. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Barney's memory to PAWS Chicago.
