He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Anderson and Ethel May Nelson, Sr. (Willoughby); his wife Barbara L. Monkman; his granddaughter Darah Zwiefel; and his brothers, Howard Nelson, Charles Nelson, Jr. and Sonny.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Ray Nelson (Pandora) of Maroa, IL, Charles Nelson (Paula Jo) of Clinton, IL, David Wayne Nelson (Darla) of Clinton, IL and Yvonne Blount (Jerry) of Oreana, IL; and his siblings, Emma Wise of Clinton, IL, Mildred Danner (Ernie) of Murfreesboro, TN and Donald Nelson (Ruth) of Clinton, IL.. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
