He was predeceased by: his parents, Pat Brooks and Betty Brooks (Pugh); his siblings, Ray Brooks and Donna Jean Brooks; his son-in-law Matt Stone; his nephew Bryon Williams; his parents-in-law, Marge and R. L. Thompson; his adoptive parents, Gene Carpenter and Shirley Carpenter; and his sister-in-law Connie Brooks-Young.
He is survived by: his wife Gina Brooks of Clay City; his daughters, Sierra Young (Chris) of Flora, Athena Gordon (Tom) of Xenia and Mackenzie Stone of Carlyle; his grandchildren, Hayden, Keegan, Zander Young, Ethan Gossett, Logan Smith, Trevin Smith (Tiffanae), Annie Gordon, Keigan Samples, Brooksy, Bailey, Briar Bray and Macey Brooks; his great grandchildren, Carter Allen, Sophia, Emmett Rainey, Onyx, Sapphire Rose and Layton Smith; his siblings, Eva Hostettler of Ingraham, Patsy Gothard of Champaign, Lee Kessler of Vandalia, Randy Brooks of Olney and Jim Brooks of Olney; his sister-in-law Kathy Brooks of Ingraham; his adoptive parents, Sonny Dale Carpenter of Clay City, Donna Jo Carpenter of Clay City and Debra Phillips (Mark) of Louisville; his cousin Bill Pugh; and his pet Sky. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
