She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen Hickenbottom and Alice Hickenbottom (Hamilton); and her siblings, Leah Boudreau, Lela Michels and Wesley Hickenbottom.
She is survived by: her husband Elmo Powell; her children, Dan Powell (Nancy) of O'Fallon, IL, Iris Lynn Burgener, Carletta Noll (Newt) of Clay City, Mike Powell of Elizabethtown, TN and Amy Miller (Mark) of Little Rock, AR; her grandchildren, Angela Keck (Donnie), Cassandra Haas, Jason Mink (Crystal), Irjaria Pippin, Hunter Miller, Richard Ketchem and Jennie Mainyi (Sergii); her stepgranddaughter Sherrie Seals; and her half-siblings, Alice Childers (Larry), Sherman Thomas, Jimmy Thomas (Della) and Ellery Thomas (Marie). She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
