He is survived by: his close friend German Shepherd; his pets, Strider, Scooby and Baby Girl; his mother Floetta Meritt of Grayville; and his siblings, Glen Meritt (Shirley) of Grayville, John Meritt (Marcia) of Flatwoods, Rocky Meritt of Newport, Tennessee, Robin Cunningham (Randy) of Parkersburg and Leigh Short of Grayville.
