He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Carrington and Mary Carrington (Zorns); his siblings, Glen Carrington, Guy Carrington (Anna Marie), Olive Carrington, Juanita Carrington and Judy Hardin; and his brother-in-law Walter Scott.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly; his daughter Risé Whitworth (Bryan) of Cisne; his grandson Thor Whitworth of Cisne; his sisters, Peggy Scott of South Carolina, Violet "Bambi" Carrington of Olney and Patty Heape (Toye) of Tennessee; and his sister-in-law Helen Carrington of North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Red Cloud Indian School.
