Virginia Slifka Obituary

Virginia M. Slifka, 94, of Cicero, passed away on November 21, 2021. She was born in Chicago on November 8, 1927, daughter of Sylvester and Marie Arzt. She was preceded in death by her siblings, James, Robert, and Marilyn (Patera). She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert C. Slifka. They were married on May 26, 1951, and spent 57 wonderful years together. Virginia was an excellent cook and baker, who greatly enjoyed reading and listening to the music of the Big Bands, Andy Williams, and Perry Como. During her working years she was employed by Western Electric, Sears, and Ceco Corporation. She and her family enjoyed many years vacationing in northern Wisconsin, and she and Robert traveled the country to numerous army reunions.

Virginia was a loving mother to three and is survived by Susan (Richard) Slupik, Robert Slifka, and Margaret (Carl) Ciaccio. Fond grandmother of Michael (Kathleen) Slupik, Andrew Slupik, and Matthew (Christina) Slupik, and a very proud great-grandmother to Joshua and Matthew Slupik Jr, and Eleanore Slupik.

Funeral Mass Monday, November 29, 2021, Our Lady Of Charity Church at 11:00 am.

She will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park, Illinois on Monday, November 29, 2021.
