He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Eric Lewis, Alicia Lewis, Kristin Cunningham (John) and Elaine Bryar; his grandsons, Anthony, Nolan, Caleb and Jonah; and his siblings, Tom McGruder and Jerry McGruder. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
